Not choosing to live in a golden palace, Princess Tu Hoa asked her father’s permission to go with her maids to the outskirts of the capital – today’s Nghi Tam village – to reclaim land, grow mulberry trees, raise silkworms, weave silk and teach the people. She is a model of a Vietnamese woman: simple, wise, living for the community and leaving behind a lasting legacy.

The collection depicts the journey of the princess’s life: from her childhood in the royal court, her years living among the villagers, to the silkworm heritage she left for future generations. Each work is a slice of culture, expressed in a contemporary visual language but still imbued with the soul of the Vietnamese people.
